ATV/BUGGY POLICY FAQ

Is it possible to obtain medical payments for the driver and passengers of a buggy/ATV?

Sometimes it is possible to be covered for medical payments while driving a buggy, but not for an ATV. Our insurance companies may grant special coverage if the buggy is street legal, has a roof and windows and/or other safety features. Otherwise, we recommend checking your domestic medical insurance to see if you will be covered. If not, you may be able to purchase temporary international medical coverage by searching online. We recommend calling the company to be sure driving an ATV/buggy is covered, especially if driven off-road.

I'll be towing my ATV/buggy and later riding it. How can I be sure to have the correct coverage?

If you will be towing your ATV/buggy first and then riding it on conventional roads, two separate policies are required.

If you would like full coverage on your ATV/buggy:

Add the ATV/buggy as a towed item on your primary vehicle's policy. Select "Liability Only" under "Coverage Type."
Issue a separate ATV/buggy policy and select the ATV/buggy's value so that you will have full coverage (available for ATVs/buggies $3000 and up). This covers the ATV/buggy for full coverage while being towed and while being driven separately.

Currently we offer full coverage online for Polaris, Arctic Cat, Honda, Can-Am, Kawasaki, and Yamaha vehicles. For other makes, contact us for special approval.

If you would like just liability coverage on your ATV/buggy, follow the steps above, but select "Liability Only" for both policies.
